Running wires from one place to another in your home can be a huge challenge. There are rarely empty interior wall cavities that get you where you are going and punching holes into walls to begin with is often enough to turn home owners off of a home improvement project.

As far as replacing you doorbell system or just updating your doorbell button for a new look, things got a whole lot easier when wireless doorbells became available. There are no wires between the doorbell button and the chime unit so you can place a doorbell anywhere that is close enough to get the signal to the base unit. For most homes, this range is enough to get you anywhere you want to place a doorbell.

The only downside is that you have to remember to replace the battery in your doorbell button before it runs out of juice.
