Home Acne Blemish Treatments

So you’re a bit skint on cash this month, but yet again you’ve got a reasonably large zit sitting on the end of your nose.  A fact which you’re not happy about.  So what to do?  Well, first you need to work out the cheapest ways of fighting acne.  And believe it or not, a lot of them are found in your cupboard.

First things first though, you need to get the foundations upon which any acne blemish treatment must rest.  Ensure you’re eating a really healthy diet (the healthier, the faster you will get over acne, exercise regularly, ensure your hormones are under control, and drink lots of water.

Baking Soda
This works as a natural peeling agent, it gently burns off the top layer of the skin on your face, to expose a fresh, unblemished layer.  This is probably the most effective acne blemish treatment, as it works almost as effectively as a lot of over the counter products.  You do need to be careful how you apply it to your face and other affected areas, as it needs to be diluted first.

Lemon Juice
This is another peeling agent, which works by removing the most outer layer of the epidermis to bring fresh skin to the surface.  It also contains antioxidants which penetrate the skin, and certain properties in lemon juice act a discolouring agent, so it can often fade marks left by acne.

Moisturize with Oil
There are certain types of oil out there which are very high in antioxidants, such as Vitamin E, Lavender Oil, or Almond Oil.  This can be applied directly onto the skin, and will replenish the skin’s stores of antioxidants much better than any orally ingested food or supplements.  You do need to be careful though, that this oil doesn’t clog the pores, which will make the situation worse.

How to get the Healthiest Skin

Although your skin is on the outside of your body, keeping it strong can also be about what you put on the inside as well. Because of this, stay clear of oily and fatty food that may alter your body chemistry for the worse. Also make sure to consume plenty of liquids because this will ensure that your skin stays moist and supple. Your skin is  your largest organ and as such it requires proper nutrition to keep up its appearance in addition to its ability to function at its best. It can be far too easy to take your skin for granted, but you’ll be happy you put effort into skin care when you experience a more clear face that looks and feels great.

Good skin is important for aesthetic reasons and for your overall health as well. For some folks good skin seems to come to them naturally but you might be surprised to find out how much real effort people put into having nice skin. In the end it might all be worth it because clean and clear skin keeps us feeling good about our skin. It’s not all that difficult to maintain great skin if you know how to utilize the right resources. It could just be a case of using the right washing habits, or perhaps a trip to the dermatologist is in order if your question is how to get rid of acne.

When washing your skin you want to make sure never to use very hot water because this will result in drying your skin in the long run. Use a very mild temperature of water to splash on your face, and then build up lather with a good non chemical soap or lotion. Rinse completely until all of the foamy soap suds are gone and make sure to pat dry your skin instead of wiping it vigorously. It’s always essential to rub thoroughly and get all the important areas of your face including your hairline and around the ears. Clearing the pores of your skin will help prevent pimples or even more drastic conditions such as acne scars. When it comes to your skin, it’s always better to prevent possible problems than to deal with complications that arise. But in any case, all it takes is daily maintenance for an improvement in your skin’s appearance.

Is There Laser Treatment for Acne?

The answer is 'yes sir' - there is laser treatment for acne. In fact, this form of treating acne is becoming more and more popular around the world as people search for alternatives to pills and creams, and as the technology improves. The biggest drawbacks with using lasers however, is that it is very expensive - as much as $2000 for the treatment, when the most basic creams cost $10, by comparison.

Because cost of laser treatment for acne is so high, it is only used as a last resort for really desperate people who have tried other methods and have found their pimple-situation to not improve. If this is the case for you, you'll need to assess whether opting for acne laser treatment is worth it, taking into account your finances and your desperation to have clear skin. Of course, there is no guarantee that lasers will be an effective remedy for your acne, so in the end it could be an expensive waste of money.

What Would You Do For Clear Skin?

Would you spend hundreds of dollars on the best acne product?  What if I told you that is not necessary?  Most of the acne treatments on the market will give you the results that you want, you just have to give them the time they need to work.  Follow the directions on the label like it is the Bible (not the King James version).  If you waffle on your routine, you are not going to get the results that you want.  If it says to use the product twice a day, use it twice a day.  Do not mix acne products because they will dry your skin out and not give you the results you want any faster.  Just stick to the one you have, but really use it.

Benzoyl Peroxide Treament Combinations

Benzoyl peroxide is a topical acne treatment that can be very effective. It is one of the first prescribed and most common treatments on the market today. However, in some cases it is not entirely effective by itself.
In these cases dermatologists often recommend combining the treatment with one or more other medications.

A typical combination would be Benzoyl peroxide acne medication, along with a toner and oxygen cream. In tandem these medication are much more effective then alone because they prevent the skin from flaking which is common at high concentrations of benzoyl peroxide.

In rare cases even with a combination of different acne remedies benzoyl peroxide treatment is not enough and a dermatologist may recommend stronger medications like Acutane. These “last resort” medications often have more severe side effects and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary.

Treatment For Adult Acne

Recently, my face began breaking out in acne and I didn't know what to do about it.  I am an adult in my mid-thirties and I thought only teenagers got acne.  Well, apparently I was mistaken because there is such a thing as adult acne.  I searched the internet for an adult acne home treatment and didn't find what I expected.

I think now I'm going to have to setup an appointment with a doctor and get my face looked at.  Hopefully he knows about some good adult acne treatments because it's making my skin look terrible.  I never have known any person in their thirties to need an adult acne treatment.  It seem kind of ridiculous, but it's definitely time to bring my stunning looks back and clear up this adult acne mess!
