Quad Bike Racing
Quad bike racing is considered a to be one of the most dangerous motor sports. Riders or racers drive their quads on trails or tracks. Quite similar to motorcycle racing, quad bike racing just use four-tire all terrain vehicles that may not really go as fast as motorcycles. However, they offer the same challenge and adventure as one drives through mud pits, obstacles, and uneven terrains. Quad bike racers typically race side by side on narrow tracks.
Quad bike racing is considered dangerous that is why most racing competitions only allow trained riders to participate. This sport is also not for those with a weak heart since this is an action-packed activity. Protective safety equipment such as helmet, knee and elbow pads, gloves and goggles are worn and rules are strictly implemented and must be dutifully followed. It is the racer that will be held accountable for injuries or accidents that may arise. And so although anyone can race quad bikes – be they adults or children, or boys or girls - those who wish to engage in this new motor sport are encouraged to undergo quad riding training classes prior to participation in any racing competition.
Quad bike racers are categorized into different racing classes depending on their age and racing ability. Racers in each class make use of quad bikes with similar engines and parts. Most quad bikes used in racing are modified models as riders adjusted their engines and suspension systems in order to make the ride smoother and easier to handle, and the quad bike more powerful. Japanese quad bikes are very popular in this sport.
Quad racing may be done in both indoor and outdoor tracks and in sunny or rainy weather conditions. They be on off-road quads or on a road legal quad bike. Trails differ depending on your racing venue. There are trails made from man-made obstacles and there are also tracks with natural riding blocks. Some trails are steeped in wildlife while others may just be plain sand and dunes. Outdoor tracks appear to have the most stimulating trails and a rainy weather condition offer the most challenging drive as you go through mud, dirt and water.
Quad bike racing series are scheduled properly so that specific planned racing dates would not overlap with other racing series. This gives the racers the opportunity to join as many racing competitions as they wish especially since there are racing events held from January to December. Quad bike racers usually receive trophies and cash prizes for winning a race. Sanctioned events or official races are usually organized by motorcyclist associations or by dealers or quad bike manufacturers.
