As an acne sufferer most of my life and going into my adulthood, I've often wondered why I can't have nice skin.  It's not for a lack of trying in keeping my skin clean, or having a proper diet.  You would think that if that is all it took, then acne sufferers would be highly motivated to take up whatever regiment regarding diet and hygiene in order to have acne free skin.

No, this is not the problem and in fact, cleaning the skin too often can even make your skin condition worse as you are irritating, drying it, and causing flakiness.  When your skin is too dry, it will compensate by producing even more oil and sebum, which could clog the pores making things worse.

As far as eating right goes, there has been no scientific proof that acne is caused by junk food, chocolate or milk.  Even saying that, there's nothing wrong with eating healthy but like mentioned, there are a lot of people suffering from acne that eat healthy, and it didn't help their acne.

No, I found that the best adult acne treatment is one that is prescribed by a dermatologist.  I've been trying to treat this off an on by myself through over the counter medication in my younger years.  When it doesn't help, it is time to see a professional.
